IGE 2026: An edition looking to the future with innovation, sustainability, and new opportunities
The Italian Gaming Expo & Conference in Rome represents Italy’s leading hub for strategic dialogue and vision within the gaming ecosystem. An event that is not just a showcase, but a living platform where institutions, industry, and stakeholders come together to build the sector’s future in a responsible, sustainable, and innovative way. Following two successful editions (2024 and 2025), the event is preparing for an even more extensive and innovative edition on the new dates of April 14–15, 2026, at a pivotal moment for Italy’s gaming sector. The year will be marked by:
- the launch of new concessions in the retail and online sector;
- the implementation of regulations on traceability and digital payments, aligned with objectives to combat illegal gaming and tax evasion;
- the introduction of updated rules on AI and algorithmic accountability, with direct impacts on control, compliance, and user communication;
- a growing focus on sustainability, governance, and measurability of social impact.
Content, Format, and Participation
The event will unfold over two days of meetings, talks, panels, showcases, and networking, with the participation of: leaders from central and regional institutions; ADM – Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (Customs and Monopolies Agency); concessionaires, technology providers, consultants, local authorities, associations, and universities.
At the heart of the program: AI and gaming regulation; tax policies and new concession models; cybersecurity, AML, and digital payments; ESG and social compliance in the sector, and much more.
IGE 2026 is not just an event. It’s an opportunity to build a cohesive system, understand change, and guide the evolution of public gaming with awareness, innovation, and vision.

"It's important to discuss gaming," he emphasizes, "because the disruptions introduced by artificial intelligence and immersive realities offer possibilities for creating a deeply immersive connection with users. Gamification has been on managers' agendas across all sectors for over a decade, and today's technologies provide opportunities in terms of interaction mechanics, narrative potential, and dynamics of personalization and user engagement."
“Sempre più aziende stanno investendo e sempre più professionisti del settore stanno nascendo anche qui in Italia, perciò è necessario un evento che possa matchare domanda e offerta del mercato e aiutare anche il nostro paese a dire la sua a livello internazionale. Come membro del comitato scientifico è veramente sfidante poter conoscere tanti altri esperti in materia e definire insieme le strategie migliori, speriamo sia solo un ottimo inizio di qualcosa ancora più grande”.
“I am delighted and proud to continue collaborating with the Italian Gaming Expo by being
part of the scientific committee, participating as a speaker and, for this year, extending
our cooperation to an even more strategic partnership between ICE Barcelona and IGE.
Our organizations share the common goal of promoting the sustainable development
of the sector, characterized by effective regulation, innovation, and
attention to social contribution.”
“Gaming is currently one of the most dynamic sectors in terms of technology and business
models. In IGE 2026, I see the opportunity to concretely discuss how innovation,
data, and sustainability can evolve together, creating value for the entire ecosystem in
a responsible and lasting way.”
“I am convinced that the future of the sector depends on the ability to integrate innovation and
responsibility. IGE 2026 offers a mature space for discussion on governance and
compliance, which remain central elements for the credibility and stability of the
industry.”

Salone delle Fontane
Salone delle Fontane, located in the heart of the EUR district, covers an area of over 2,000 square meters and is one of the most prestigious venues in the capital’s hospitality landscape.
The entrance, scenographically enriched by fountains decorated with mosaics, granite staircases, a colonnade, and well-kept gardens, introduces this work of monumentalist architecture designed by architect Gaetano Minnucci in the early 1940s for the Universal Exposition planned for 1942. It stands as an expression of Italian Rationalism, an architectural movement that developed in Italy in the 1920s and 1930s in connection with the International Modern Movement, following the principles of functionalism and continuing in various forms until the 1970s.
A little fun fact: the Salone delle Fontane has become even more famous today after hosting the filming of the movie “The Great Beauty” by director Paolo Sorrentino.
