Travellers from most countries require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (Eta) before entry. Apply online via the official Sri Lanka Eta website, ideally one week before departure. Approval is typically granted within three business days. Ensure your passport has at least six months’ validity from your date of arrival and print a copy of your Eta for airport immigration.

Comprehensive travel insurance is highly recommended. Routine vaccines such as Hepatitis A and Typhoid are advisable, and mosquito precautions should be taken against dengue. Always carry any necessary prescriptions in their original packaging.

The Sri Lankan Rupee (Lkr) is the local currency. Credit cards are widely accepted in hotels and restaurants, though cash is preferred in smaller establishments and for tuk-tuks. Currency exchange counters and ATMs are easily accessible at Bandaranaike International Airport (Cmb) and throughout Colombo.

Expect daytime highs of 30–32°C and warm evenings. Lightweight, breathable fabrics are ideal for daytime wear, with smart casual attire recommended for summit sessions. Formal wear is encouraged for the Sigma Awards Gala and iGathering Dinner. Sri Lanka operates on 230V / 50Hz, with Type D, G, and M plugs. Pack a universal adaptor to stay powered throughout your stay.

All international flights land at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), located roughly 35 km north of Colombo. Travel times to the City of Dreams complex average 45–60 minutes, depending on traffic.
