Latin America, Cgs and Betshield Responsible Gaming announce strategic partnership

With this initiative, Cgs reinforces its position as the event organizer most committed to the professionalization, credibility, and sustainability of gaming in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Cgs Events, one of the leading gaming industry event organizers in Latin America, announces an unprecedented initiative for 2026: Responsible Gaming will become the central and cross-cutting theme of all its events throughout the year, through a strategic partnership with Betshield Responsible Gaming.

The initiative comes at a time when responsible gaming has become part of the industry’s narrative but still lacks operational structure, clear metrics, and real integration into industry processes. By making it the core axis of its agenda, Cgs proposes a tangible shift: moving beyond rhetoric toward measurable, applicable, and long-term models.

The announcement takes place in a context where regulated operators are already facing legal accountability for failing to demonstrate the adoption of effective responsible gaming practices, in accordance with the requirements set forth in Ordinance 1,231/24. These rulings reinforce that policy statements alone are insufficient; operators must prove, through records, continuous monitoring, and proportional actions, that responsible gaming is fully embedded in their operations.

Cgs’s vision goes beyond formal compliance, aiming to promote a structural transformation driven by education, technology, impact metrics, and operational best practices—strengthening the industry’s credibility with regulators, operators, and society. Cgs does not merely differentiate itself; it leads a narrative shift across the entire industry.

By adopting Responsible Gaming as the central pillar of its events, Cgs takes a clear and transformative stance. The initiative signals that responsible gaming is no longer an institutional add-on but a core component of the industry’s architecture.

“At Cgs, we choose our partners with the same criteria we apply when designing our events: excellence, innovation, and real impact. Betshield represents exactly that. This partnership is not symbolic—it is strategic and transformative”, says Elizabeth Leiva Goycochea, Ceo of Cgs Events.

“After the first year of regulation, 2026 marks a turning point. Responsible gaming must move beyond regulatory formality and become part of the industry’s core architecture. With data-driven technology, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, it is already possible to identify risk patterns early and act before situations escalate. This is the path to turning discourse into systems and building more sustainable growth”, says Thiago Iusim, Ceo of Betshield.

The initiative will be implemented across all group events. Throughout 2026, Betshield will serve as an official partner, and Thiago Iusim will act as the Responsible Gaming Ambassador at Cgs events, participating in panels, workshops, educational activations, and training programs for operators, affiliates, regulators, and stakeholders.
