Geopolitics of chaos, the voice of executives to rewrite gaming rules

An intense and engaging beginning for the Ige Executive Gaming Club, which launches its first event on Wednesday, July, the 9th, at the MoMeC in Rome.

A closed-door, by invitation only event, created with the aim of stimulating a high-profile discussion on the strategic issues that are redefining the economic, political and regulatory context on a global scale. At the heart of the discussion, moderated by the deputy director of Il Messaggero, Alvaro Moretti: the “geopolitics of chaos” and the new international balances, requiring a deep reflection on leadership, on the role of institutions and on the ability of strategic sectors – such as the gaming one – to remain anchored to principles of sustainability, compliance and competitiveness.

A crystal clear and anticipatory view

The star of the meeting is Andrew Spannaus, an American political analyst and journalist, known for having anticipated systemic breakdown phenomena, such as the American and European populist uprising. With a direct and rhetorical-free style, Spannaus outlines a scenario where instability is no longer an exception, but the new constant. From the crisis of the multi-lateral order to regional conflicts, from the pressure of emerging economies to the redefinition of energy and technological models, the map of global power today requires a radically new interpretation. “In a context dominated by uncertainty, those who lead a company have the strategic duty to anticipate risks and transform volatility into a competitive advantage. Today, leadership means geopolitical vision, the ability to interpret international dynamics and act with clarity of mind, balancing openness to the market and protection of the core business,” Spannaus says.

A club to anticipate, not to chase

The initiative, promoted by the Italian Gaming Expo & Conference (Ige), is intended as a private place for listening and continuous discussion between the main executives of the sector. Not a conference, but a community designed to “focus on what happens before it happens” – as highlighted by Simona Clarizio, curator of the project and Ige content manager. “We want to luanch this club with a strategic and disenchanted look at the present – Clarizio states – because the gaming sector, today more than ever, cannot be a spectator. Regulatory challenges, geopolitical pressure, digital transformation, regulatory inflation: everything requires a cultural change. And this space was just created to nurture a collective, pragmatic and anticipatory vision”. Towards a shared agenda The participation in the first meeting by executives confirms their interest in an informal but organized format, capable of stimulating high-content discussions between industry experts, institutional representatives, scholars and innovators. The meeting on July, the 9th, aims to lay the foundations for the definition of a roadmap of regular meetings that will explore each time topics such as: artificial intelligence and regulation, taxation and legal gaming, new models of risk governance and systemic sustainability, and much more.
